She was born on October 24, 1931 in Peoria to Henry and Mary Ethel (Issac) Light. She married Donald L. Holmes on February 24, 1951 in Bartonville. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, and four sisters.
Surviving are her husband, Donald of Bartonville, two children, Donald L. (Suzanne) Holmes Jr of Bartonville and Joy Lynn (J.D. Larkin) Holmes of Kenney, IL; and one granddaughter, Leanna (John) Crichton of West Peoria.
Mandy worked as bookkeeper for Central National Bank and then for Southside Bank, before operating her own daycare for over 26 years. She was a member of Trinity Presbyterian Church in Bartonville, where she was a past trustee and taught Sunday School. She was also active in the cub scouts and she enjoyed fishing and camping.
Cremation will be accorded and a memorial service will be on Wednesday, July 18, 2018 at 6:00pm with visitation one hour prior to the service at Trinity Presbyterian Church in Bartonville. Pastor Stephen Barch will officiate. Davison-Fulton Bartonville Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
