He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Yvonne Meadows Smith of Victoria; children, Sheryl (Maynard J.) Belson of Dallas, Scott Lee (Lacy G.) Smith of Little Rock, Arkansas and Steven Robert (Shelia W.) Smith of Leander, Texas. He is survived by grandchildren, Mark Jones, Kelly Jones Howard, Emily S. Barnes, Steven R. Smith Jr., and Sam Smith. Step-grandchildren, Judi, Meghan, Jordan and Kelsey as well as several great-grandchildren. He is also survived by brothers, Phil N. Smith of Texarkana, Arkansas and William David Smith of Texarkana, Arkansas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Kelley Ray; brother, John C; sister, Louann Dean.
He was employed by Case Power & Equipment and was in the computer business until his retirement.
Bob loved all his family very much. He was known for his jokes and love of dogs, especially his best friend “Happy” and football. He was an avid Texas A&M fan. His hobbies included genealogy, Koi Fish and computers.
He was a Christian and worshiped with the Midtown Church of Christ in Victoria.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to Dr. K. Vu and Dr. Yahagi and all the personnel and volunteers at Citizens Medical Center for their outstanding compassion and good care.
A memorial service will be held at Rosewood Funeral Chapel, 3304 E. Mockingbird Lane, Victoria on Saturday, August 11, 2018 at 11:30 am followed by a time of visitation.
Memorials may be made to Midtown Church of Christ, 5901 N. Main, Victoria, Texas 77904, in Bob’s name if so desired.
