LONGVIEW - Raymond Stephen Cordeiro, 71, passed away peacefully on August 6, 2018 at Longview Regional Medical Center in Longview. His loving wife Carol, his children, and grandchildren were by his side. Visitation is between 5:00 and 7:00 pm on Monday, August 13 at Lakeview Funeral Home. A rosary and memory sharing will immediately follow from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. A mass will be held on Tuesday, August 14 at 10:00 am at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Longview.
Ray was born in Fall River, Massachusetts on February 1, 1947 to Frank and Mary Cordeiro. His early interest in cars led him to a career in the auto body industry, which ultimately led him to Texas, where he settled and raised his family. Ray was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He touched the lives of many with his quiet wisdom, unceasing generosity, and quick-witted humor.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Cordeiro of Hallsville, his daughter Traci Myers of Hallsville, his son Brant Cordeiro of Longview, son-in-law Brandon, daughter-in-law Lanai, grandchildren Brett, Branai, and Brenna, and of course "Grizz", the beloved, happy-go-lucky Airedale that was always by his side. He is preceded in death by a son, Heath Cordeiro.
