Willa Mae Micks

Willa Mae Micks, 98, of Springfield, passed away on August 10, 2018 at Lewis Memorial Christian Village. She was born on March 13, 1920 in Colp, Illinois to Geroge and Della Link Brown. Willa married Earl Micks in Colp, Illinois on September 10, 1938 and he preceded her in death in 1995.

Mrs. Micks is survived by her children: Lawayon (Herman) Young and Earl L. (Ora) Micks, one brother Kenneth Brown of Evanston, Illinois eighteen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, two sisters: Izetta Williams and Martina Brown, three brothers: Everett, Kenneth and Ottis Brown and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three children: Patricia A. Ellington, Don W. Micks and Ralph D. Micks.

Willa loved her family and was an excellent cook who was known for her cakes and pies. She was a member of Capitol City Church of God.
