There are too many wonderful memories to share of Eric but I would like to say that his million dollar smile,  contagious laugh, big personality and life experiences helped his LAPD, 8 / 95 class make it through 6 tuff months of Academy training.

For the years after graduation that I got to see Eric he brought the same joy, laughter and positive attitude with him and shared it with all of us.

He lit up every room that he walked into and I know that he is bright star in the sky keeping us safe as he did down here.
Every time I put on my LAPD uniform and Yankee Jersey I am honored to know than Eric was part of that family and made them all better.

My condolences, and those of my family, to Connie and the rest of Eric’s family.  

Eric and I attended the LAPD academy together, both as former Air Force Security Forces. We were friends and teammates from the start. Eric’s cheer and joy were ever-present and on full display.  Like the rest of us, Eric had no quit, but with him there was no quit along with a big beaming smile or a joke, or a big pat on the back.  Eric exuded care and love for all that encountered him.  To match his example was sadly a task that I’ve never come close to mastering. His example though will always be here and will never fade, so I’ll use the rest of my time here trying to more closely emulate my friend Eric. Our class was very lucky to have Eric, his genuine warmth and his joyful character as a part of us.  The US Air Force, the LAPD and the City of Los Angeles were lucky to have a man like that serve it’s citizens for 22 years.     

2 Timothy 4: 7-8:
7. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. 8. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day -- and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.

Rest in peace, Eric.  Our prayers are with your lovely wife and family.

Eric was a great cop.  He servedhis community and his nation honorably.  I remember Eric because sometimes we were partnered up as wrestling mates.  He was always very  aggressive in what he did.  He was always giving at 110%.  He was also very compassionate and giving.  His heart and smile was as big as he was.

I ran into Eric through our careers.  He was always happy to see any of his 8-95 classmates.  I'm sad to hear of his passing.  He went way too early.  He is in God's kingdom now.  He is home.

My heart goes out to you on behalf of his classmates from the Los Angeles Police Department. Even though many years can pass after the police academy it does not take away from the bond that we all shared.  We would all continue to run into one another throughout the years and one thing that always stood out with Eric was his  infectious smile. He was kind and a part of much larger picture. His purpose here and his service to our communities will never be forgotten. We send you love, light & comfort during this time. With much love & respect, his family in blue 💙

I have very few fond memories of my Uncle Eric, they might not seem like much, but I will cherish them always.  I was still very young when he moved away.  I remember when my Uncle went to the movies to see Batman starring Michael Keaton, boy did he love Batman, and I believe that same year for Halloween he was Batman.  I thought he was the coolest Batman ever, and he had a mask and everything. I also remember when I may or may not have played Mariah Carey’s ‘Vision of Love’ one to many times on repeat continuously, and Uncle Eric removed the cassette tape from the stereo.  He walks out of the room with the tape in his hands.  Uncle Eric said something along the lines of not being able to listen to that song one more time.   My next memory was when my mom dropped him off for the Air Force, that was one of the best decisions he made.  During his time in the service, he met and married my Aunt Connie and started a family with her.

 The only thing that makes his passing bearable is in this short time with us; I could tell that not only did he love his family deeply, but they all also loved him in return.  That provides the greatest comfort to me knowing he was able to see his children grow and meet his grandchildren.  He will live on in them.  Every time throughout the years whenever  I would see Batman, Uncle Eric was always in my thoughts, and that will never change.  I will forever remember his smile that would light up a room, his wicked sense of humor, witty banter, and his knack for debating topics he was passionate about. You may be gone, but never forgotten.

Eric would always let you know when it was football season because he would yell, " J!!  E!!  T!!  S!!     JETS!! in the police station where he worked.                               GOD SPEED MY BROTHER

I have so many childhood memories that Eric is a part of that it's difficult to know what to say. But I am proud to learn of the man he became. The devoted Husband, Father, Grandfather, military servant and police officer were all roles I know he embraced whole heartily. And if  you knew Eric at all, none of these choices surprised you. Always believing in being a loyal friend and family member, his love of family comes easy to understand. His love for his country as showed through his choices to serve and protect in the Air Force and LAPD are also easy to understand. He always liked order.  I pray that his family finds comfort in knowing that Eric is safe in the arms of the Lord and watching over them from above. 

Action Jackson had all the right moves on the football field. It was an honor and privilege to play side by side with Eric. I will remember his infectious smile, hard working attitude, and of course that Jeri-Curl. Love you Brother Marauder, and more importantly, Brother in Christ.   Time to put on immortality, and bask in the Glory of the Lord. See you again someday.
