Funeral services will be conducted for Derrick Watt, age 38, on Friday, September 14, 2018 at 2:00pm at Hill Crest Memorial Chapel with Deacon John Basco officiating. Inurnment will be scheduled at a later date.
Mr. Watt was born on August 13, 1980 in Tucson, Arizona and passed away September 5, 2018 in Overton Brooks VA Medical Center-Shreveport. Derrick was a United States Army Veteran and was a recruiter for Metro Aviation. He enjoyed watching WWE and was a dedicated fan of the Arizona Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals and the San Francisco Giants. He was an avid sportsman and fan of baseball, football, basketball and soccer. He loved playing soccer and watching and encouraging his children to play soccer, baseball and football. His most cherished moments were those spent with his family camping, bicycling and traveling which included going to major league ballparks to support their favorite teams.
Survivors include his wife, Celia Zamudio Watt; his children, Damon, Dominic and Aubrey Watt; his mother, Barbara Watt; and his sister, Danielle Watt.
He was preceded in death by his father, Dale Watt and his grandparents, John J. Baker, Sr. and Hilda Baker.
