Grace Irene Leonard, age 82 of Montgomery, Alabama, passed away on Saturday, October 13, 2018. She was preceded in death by her son, Brian Leonard; her parents, Warren Silas and Kathryn Gertrude Chaplin; her brother, Charles Chaplin; her sisters, Mary Chaplin, Ruth Ries, and Sadie Searcy (Paul). She is survived by her loving husband of 58 years, Raymond Leonard; daughters, Karen Leonard, Theresa Leonard, Patricia Goard, and Rebecca Murry (John); grandchildren, Alexander Goard (Emily), Dustin Goard (Shaylyn), Niall Goard, Travis Murry (Evan), and Sarah Murry; great granddaughter, Mairèad Goard; brother in law, David O. Ries, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Grace served in the United States Air Force before marrying and starting her family. She was a lifelong member of Girl Scouts. Grace was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother and she will be deeply missed.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 from 10:00 to 11:00 am at Alabama Heritage Funeral Home. A Celebration of Grace's Life will begin at 11:00 am with burial immediately following at Alabama Heritage Cemetery.
