Bruce Parker

Bruce was born July 11, 1945 in McDowell County, WVA to the late Willard and Ada (Hicks) Parker. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather and loved spending time with his family. Bruce had a deep and abiding faith in the Lord and was a long time member of Catawba Heights Baptist Church in Belmont, NC. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of fifty-three years, Diana Young Parker of Iron Station, NC; children, Reverend Allen Parker and wife, Loretta of Stanley, NC, Reverend Wayne Parker and wife, Kayla of Iron Station, NC, Betty Parker and husband, Thurmond Muncy of Iron Station, NC, and Bernice Abernethy and husband, John of Iron Station, NC; eight grandchildren, Eric Parker and wife, Krista, Jessica Parker, Christopher Parker, Erica Parker, Josh Abernethy and wife, Brandi, Jordan, Brooke and Brianna Abernethy; three great-grandchildren, Inman and Corbin Parker and Madilyn Parker; sister, Ann Hartley of Christiansburg, VA.

Bruce was preceded in death by his brother, Curtis Parker.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 3:00 PM on Wednesday, October 24, 2018 at Dallas Funeral Home, 212 W. Trade Street, Dallas, NC. Reverend Max Pendleton will preside. A private interment will be held on Thursday at 11:00 AM at Evergreen Cemetery in Belmont, NC.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 PM – 3:00 PM prior to the service at the Dallas Funeral Home.
