Richard (Dick) Gaby, 91 passed away on October 19, 2018 in Solana Beach, California while surrounded by family. Dick was a kind and loving father and devoted husband. He was married to Susan Bierig in 1950, and they remained inseparable until her passing in 2005.
Born on August 6, 1927 in Pueblo, Colorado to Stewart and Edith Gaby he was the youngest of four children. He served in the U.S. Army at the end of World War II as part of the occupational forces in Japan. Following his honorable discharge in 1947 he became an amateur roller skater and performed in nationwide competitions.
Dick was an active member of the St. James & St. Leos Catholic community and served in the Knights of Columbus as a Fourth Degree Knight.
Dick is survived by three children, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be held on October 31, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Catholic Church. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. at the Mission San Luis Rey Cemetery in Oceanside, California.
