Carla Kay Vetter, 57, passed away Monday, October 29, 2018, at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines. Visitation will be on Thursday, November 1, 2018, from 5:00-7:00 p.m., at Ankeny Funeral Home (1510 W. First Street Ankeny, IA 50023). A memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m., Friday, November 2, 2018 at Ankeny Funeral Home. Memorials may be directed to the family.
Carla was born November 13, 1960, in Ames, IA to Carl and Karen (Herrick) Vetter. She was baptized and confirmed at Salem United Church of Christ in Alleman. Carla graduated from North Polk High School and went on to attend DMACC and Upper Iowa University, where she graduated with her Bachelor’s of Science degree. Carla was most recently working as a billing specialist with the Anesthesiologists Group at Mercy in Des Moines.
In her free time, Carla enjoyed dinner outings with friends, crocheting, watching Iowa State Basketball and Cubs games with her dad and bible study. Most of all, Carla loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her daughter, Kylie.
Carla is survived by her daughter, Kylie (Zack) Barragan of Ankeny; parents, Carl and Karen Vetter of Alleman; brothers, David (Dawn) Vetter of Hampton and Jeff (Sally) Vetter of Altoona, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, she will also be missed by her best pal, her dog Khloe.
Family and friends are invited to remain at the funeral home following the service for a continued time of fellowship where a luncheon will be served.
