AMY JEWELENE BRITTON, age 87, died Monday, October 29, 2018 in Superior Township, Michigan. Born October 22, 1931 in Pathfork, Kentucky to Taylor Bard and Ida (Lickliter) Lambert. Jewel was raised in the Cumberland Gap area, the youngest of 8 siblings. After the death of her father, Jewel moved to Michigan with her mother and brother. Jewel was a longtime resident of Dexter and a member of the Dexter Gospel Church. She was a generous neighbor who found great satisfaction in helping others.
Jewel is survived by children Donna (Jeff) Zahn of Ypsilanti, Jerry (Joan) Gordenier of Gregory and Susan Ackley (Ray Koontz) of Baker City, OR, 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, husband Donald Britton and former husband Donald
Gordenier.
Visitation will be Thursday, November 1 from 5-7PM at the Hosmer-Muehlig Funeral Chapel at 3410 Broad Street, Dexter, Michigan with service at 7PM. Graveside service and burial on Saturday, November 3 at 1PM at the Hampton Cemetery in Artemus, Kentucky with funeral procession meeting at Hopper Funeral Home, 302 N. Broadway Barbourville, KY at 12Noon.
