Achille "Smokie" Paul Denoux

Achille “Smokie” Paul Denoux, a resident of Gonzales, passed away Wednesday, October 31, 2018 at the age of 87. He was a US Air Force veteran, opened National Food Store in 1956 where he worked as a manager in grocery retail then later with State National Life Insurance Co. Smokie enjoyed cooking, going to auctions and collecting. He never met a stranger.

Survived by his 4 sons, Kevin Paul Denoux and wife Charlene, Rodney Joseph Denoux and wife Nan, Glenn Edward Denoux and fiancé Jodie, Scott David Denoux and wife Nikki; 9 grandchildren, Jordan Cole Denoux, Ashlee Denoux Coulon, Devinne Denoux Galloway, Matthew Paul Denoux, Michael Edward Denoux, Ryan Paul Denoux, Robert Gerard Denoux, Luke Michael Denoux, Christian Anthony Denoux; 7 great grandchildren; 3 sisters, Maxine Bourgoyne and husband Cyril, Virginia (Jenny) Denoux, Mary Ann Spano; brother Lannie Denoux, Sr. and wife Bernice; sister-in-law, Carleen Lane Denoux.

Preceded in death by his wife, Mary Elizabeth LeBlanc Denoux; parents, Achille Joseph Denoux and Ella Lanoix Denoux; brothers, Merlin Denoux and Henry A. Denoux; sister, Ella Mae Porrier; brothers-in-law, Leo Porrier and Emile Spano; grandson, Caleb Paul Denoux.

Visitation will be held at Ourso Funeral Home in Gonzales, on Sunday, November 4, 2018 from 5PM until 8PM. On Monday, November 5, 2018, visitation will be held at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Donaldsonville from 9AM until service at 11AM. Interment will follow in church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jordan Denoux, Michael Denoux, Robert Denoux, Ryan Denoux, Cody Coulon, Jessie Galloway and Luke Denoux. Honorary pallbearers are Matthew Denoux, Christian Denoux and Jeff Porter.
