Lester Lawson Williams, 83, passed away on November 6, 2018. He was a native of Poquoson and a resident of Smithfield for 20 years. Lester was a Retired SSGT E-5 of the United States Air Force serving in Vietnam. He later worked and retired from the Civil Service. Lester was a member of Bible World Apostolic Church.
Lester is preceded in rest by his son, Owen; daughter, Mary; and four brothers. Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 20 years, Joyce Williams; sons, Carl Williams (Alice) of Edmond, Oklahoma and Jeff Williams (Linda) of Lawton, Oklahoma; daughter-in-law, Lucy Williams of Seattle, Washington; grandchildren, Ian Williams and Brian Williams; brother, Milburn Williams of Hampton, Virginia; sister, Ethel Thompson (Kenneth) of California; and a host of nieces, nephews, step-children, step-grandchildren, and one step-great-granddaughter.
The family will receive friends at 12:00 pm on Friday, November 9, 2018 at Bible World Apostolic Church, 600 Happy Acres Road, Chesapeake, Virginia 23323 with a funeral service to begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Parklawn Memorial Park, 2551 N. Armistead Avenue, Hampton, Virginia 23666.
