Stephen was born on December 5, 1953 in Christopher, Illinois to the late James and Betty (Smith) Sparks. Stephen was raised in West Frankfort and Johnston City Illinois and was a true on a kind individual.
Stephen, for many years was the Owner/Operator of an Appliance Repair Shop. He was an avid bicyclist and will be forever remembered for his love of roller-skating, a good game of checkers, Chess, Dominoes, or Yahtzee. He also enjoyed running and placed well for his age in division competition, Stephen had a passion about staying in shape. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Stephen was preceded in death by his parents, James and Betty Sparks; two sisters, Sally L. Reed and Sara M. Barnard.

He also leaves to cherish his memory, His former wife Mickey Sparks; Step-children,
Kim, Gary, Suri, and Gregory; Step grandchildren, Lynda, Brad, Ashley, Justin, Gillian, Lavena, Nalena, Sarah, and Sofia.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at Cook-Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home, 14501 North Interstate Highway 35, Pflugerville, Texas 78660.
Stephen will be returning to Illinois to rest alongside his parents with a graveside service held at Lakeview Cemetery in Johnston City, IL., on November 16th at 1:00 p.m. Family will be officiating, sharing memories and praying. Graveside services are entrusted to Blue Funeral Home in Marion, Illinois.
