William was known for his positive attitude, his infectious laugh, and his love of the outdoors. He never met a stranger. He enjoyed spending time fishing, camping, gardening and was an avid speed reader. Most of all he loved spending time with family and especially his Grandchildren and Great nieces and nephews. They always brought a smile to his face.
William was born August 10, 1942 in Merced, CA to Charlie and Mable Sinks. He was blessed to have 8 siblings. William enlisted in the Navy at the age of 18 and served his country for 2 ½ years. He was a migrant worker for a few years and then became a truck driver. He drove truck all over the country for 40 years.
William was preceded in death by his parents, 2 sisters, Doris Champion and Beatrice Eide, and sister in law, Poley Sinks. He is survived by his wife Cathy Sinks, his siblings, Charles Sinks (Poley), Fran Ketring, Bernice Swindle (Butch), Patsy Price, Alfred Sinks (Toni), and Lonnie Sinks Sr (Cindy). He is also survived by his son, William Sinks Sr (Katrina), daughters, Sheryl Huetter (Terry), and Crystal Plummer, many loving grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
A memorial service will be held on December 8, at Resthaven Park Mortuary and Cemetery 4310 East Southern Ave. Phoenix, AZ 85042. Beginning with visitation at 9 am and the service to follow at 10 am.
