She was born in Parsons, Kansas on October 1, 1929.
Dorothy graduated from Parsons High School.
She married Roy James Dobson on August 19, 1949. She was a homemaker and then worked as an administrative secretary at the University of Houston Computer Science Department for 20 years.
Dorothy enjoyed all types of cooking, especially baking all sorts of Christmas candy and cookies. She was an avid exerciser in her later years and enjoyed playing dominoes with her friends. She was strong in her Christian faith and loved her church and church family.
She was predeceased by her parents Fred and Vyrel Watson Hanley and her sister Betty Gowing.
She was survived by her loving husband, RJ, of 69 years.
She is lovingly remembered by her children Terry Dobson and wife Carol, and Charis Yaklin and husband Eddie. Her sister Elizabeth Hanley McKee and husband Dean. Her three grandchildren Kylie, Cameron, and Karsyn Dobson.
Funeral arrangements in memory of Dorothy will be held at Connect Community Church in Pasadena, Texas. Visitation will be held January 2, 2019 from 5 till 7 pm. The Memorial Service will be held January 3, 2019 at 10am. Committal Service will follow in the Forrest Park East Cemetery.
