I met scott in 6th grade,from the first time I met him I knew we would be friends, his personality and how genuine he was spoke volumes of the person I was becoming friends with, he was never short with anyone and always had time to say hi to other kids that maybe didn't fit in or were new to our school. we were young but Scott was a old soul and I guess I admired him and knew that I wanted to be like that, when your in Jr high there is a lot of pressure to be the cool guy and Scott did that by being just who he was "a good guy''as our friendship grew we would have sleepovers and we would sneak out of Scotts house in the middle of the night and do stupid kid things Scott always kept it between the proverbial lines...Scott and I loved sports football,basketball,hockey anything that was considered a sport we would play..I remember the countless hours we spent on Saturdays in the fall playing football it was the usual 4 guys me Scotty, Jeff henderson and john Wardell, those good times and laughs will live on in my mind forever I will never forget all the great times we had as kids.Scott and I played football together from Jr high and in to high school as we all grew Scott remained short in stature but you could never measure his heart, he played and lived as a giant and his speed was very deceptive un like his personality he was a straight shooter.. After high school everyone moved on and we did not keep in great contact but would occasionally run into each other and talk and catch up... the last time we talked for hours we picked up right where we left off.I can only type 2000 words on here and I could write a million words and it still wouldn't be enough to say all the things I would like to say.. to the Husnick family my deepest condolence I am so sorry for your tragic loss and I am deeply saddened.. Scotty you will never be forgotten and you will live on in all the people that you have touched in your short life time, god speed till we meet again love you brother

So sorry for your loss!  I’m Cindy Husnick-Ramsey’s friend since grade school & met Geno several times over the years.  My thoughts & prayers for all who loved & lost Scott!  

I grew up down the street from Scott and I have know him my entire life.  Our families have been close for as long.  As a kid, Scott was 4 years older than I was and I definitely had a bit of a crush on him as a little girl, lol.  He and my brother included me in every backyard hockey game, football game, or whatever sport they were playing even though I’m sure I got in the way.  As years went by and we all got older, Scott bought the house I grew up in. I had been living there trying to save up some money to move out.  When Scott bought the house from my mom he offered me the bedroom I’d lived in my whole life for little, if any, rent.   He’s always treated me like family and we shared countless conversations as roommates.   During my recent deployment to Afghanistan he contacted me to let me know he was thinking about me and praying for my safe return, despite us not having talked in awhile.  Somehow he has always managed to think of me when I’ve needed it the most.   I will miss his generosity, thoughtfulness, smile and laugh, but most of all, I will miss his friendship.  Love you Scott!  

I was a neighborhood friend, my older brother was a closer friend. However, every kid in the area looked up to Scott. Although he was more athletic than the rest of us, he was never arrogant or too good for anybody. He was a really good guy, even at a young age when the rest of us were maybe not as humble. I have not seen Scott in many years, but it brings me great sadness to hear he is gone. I hope there are more like him out there, leading the rest of us to become better selves. Peace be with you, Scott.
