Mr. Horner, a resident of Huntsville, Alabama since 1977, was born in Philadelphia, PA on October 31, 1933 to Ernest and Helen Horner. After serving in the Army, Mr. Horner joined the Federal Workforce as a Calibration Specialist supporting the United States Missile and Munitions Center and School at Redstone Arsenal. He retired in 1990. Mr. Horner was a graduate of Athens State University.
Mr. Horner was active in the church. He was a member of Southwood Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and enjoyed being a greeter with his wife.
Mr. Horner is survived by Dorothy Horner, his loving wife of 64 years; son Thomas Horner (Melissa); daughter Diane Small (Bob); daughter Marjorie Henley (David); daughter Kathleen Moorhead (Michael); seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, brother Ernest Horner, and sister Gwendolyn Thompson-Lester (Wendell).

A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 13, 2019 at the chapel of Valhalla Funeral Home with Pastor Will Spink officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until the hour of service on Wednesday.
