Keith "K.B." Ball

Keith L. “K.B” Ball passed away Monday, Feb. 18, 2019 at the Pavilions in Traverse City. Keith was born on Nov. 14, 1927 in Port Huron, MI., to Wilbur and Edith (Lewis) Ball. He attended school in the Armada school district, and following enlisted in the U.S. Navy where he was stationed in Pensacola, FL. On June 26, 1948 in Mt. Clemens, MI., he married the former Ann Brown. They spent 64 wonderful years together until she passed in 2013, and he continued to miss her every single day.

The couple moved to Elk Rapids, MI. in the early 1960’s, and Keith was employed by Super Tool for many years, and following that worked part time at the Village Market. He was a member of the local Masonic lodge, and AMVETS, and enjoyed riding his Kubota mowing his lawn, and also had an interest in model trains. He also joined with his two sons to form the 3-B’s, a band that played at various local events including Harbor Days, Evenings on River Street, and also when requested weddings and other events. Keith was all about spending time with his family, and loved every minute of it.

He is survived by his sons, Larry (Valarie) and Gary (Sharon) Ball; grandchildren, Jeremy (Michael Ann), Kevin (Charlotte), Jamie Galligan, Jessica (Greg) Anderson, Sheri (Randy) Gilbert and Brent (Melanie) Coon. Also surviving are 10 great-grandchildren, sister Shirley Brown, and his beloved dog Chico. Besides his wife, he was preceded by a brother Duane.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Covell Funeral Home, 312 Pine St. Elk Rapids. Visitation will begin on Thursday from 6-8 p.m. and continue on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Interment in the spring will be at Maple Grove Cemetery.
