Robert Gordon Tryon Jr., 85, of Terre Haute, passed away on Feb. 27, 2019, in Brazil, Indiana. He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana on Dec. 29, 1933, to Robert Gordon Tryon Sr. and Louise Marie (Brown) Tryon.
Bob retired from Newport after 20 years of service as a plumber and steamfitter (Local #157). Bob was very involved in the Shrine. He was a member of the Zorah Shrine, Masonic Social Lodge #86 and Scottish Rite Valley of Terre Haute. He was a recipient of the Meritorious Service Award, and he was also chairman of Shriners Mini Clinic. After retirement, he was the public relations officer for Zorah Shrine. Bob liked to fish, work in his garden and travel.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia; two sons, James Tryon of Terre Haute and Robert Tryon of Brentwood, Tenn.; and two special friends, Animesh Dey of Brentwood, Tenn., and Timmy Galbraith of Terre Haute, Ind. He also has several nieces, nephews and cousins. Bob was preceded in death by his parents and his daughter, Gigi.
Services will be this Saturday, March 2, 2019, at 1 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home, with a visitation Saturday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the funeral home. Officiating will be Pastor Dennis Tyson with burial to follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Shriners Children's Hospital or Heart to Heart Hospice.
