A much loved father, son, and brother, Jesus L Hernandez Jr “Chuy”, of San Antonio, Texas passed away peacefully at his home, March, 10, 2019 with his family present. He had bravely confronted and fought brain cancer.
He was born October 25, 1965 in San Antonio, Texas. He graduated from South San Antonio High School in 1984, where he was in the National Honor Society and debate team. Chuy also attended the University of Texas Austin for a short period of time.
Jesus loved sports and loved to play baseball, golf, frisbee golf, and he had many special talents such as coloring and making rosaries for loved ones. He was an avid runner and was diagnosed with cancer during his time training for the Rock and Roll Marathon. He is survived by his son Christian A. Hernandez; father and mother Jesus and Josefina Hernandez; sisters, Leticia Garcia and Naomi Arocha and husband Rudy; Brother Isaac; nieces Bryanna, Tiffany and Johnna; nephews Patrick and Travis; great nieces/nephews Javia, Devlin, Timothy, and Catherine.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, March 16, 2019 from 4 pm to 5 pm, with a memorial service to be held at 5 pm.
