Anita married the love of her life, Marvin H. Saben, on September 6, 1952, and they enjoyed 50 years together during which time they raised four children.
She was predeceased by her husband, her father and mother, her three brothers (Alfred, Armin and Victor) and her sister (Lucille Daeda).
Anita is survived by her children and their spouses, Dennis, Glenn (Anna Tesch), Brian (Sue Ahn) and Sandra (Mark) Byers. She is also survived by grandchildren, Casey (Kathleen) Hartenberger and Kylie (Jake) Meinert, sisters-in-law Marion Frenz and Dorothy Frenz and brother-in-law Robert Yunker and many nieces and nephews.
Anita was a member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Rockford since about 1970 where she and her husband actively involved with many church leadership, worship and charity roles. She was especially fond of her choir, Miriam Circle and Home Bound Ministries activities. She was also a volunteer at Midway Village Museum and a member of the Red Hat Society.
Anita was a resident for the last six years at Fairhaven Christian Retirement Center who provided loving care and support for her during her struggle with Alzheimer’s Disease.
Visitation with family will take place at Sunset Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 10, 2019, at 2:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 3:00 p.m. Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens.
