He was born in Hohenwald, Tennessee, to the late Claude W. Reeves and Kathrine McMahon Reeves. Ernie was loved by all and never met a stranger. He worked as a plumber and retired from Lee Company after 38 years of service. He was a member of Masonic Lodge #271, a 32nd Degree Mason and Shriner, and enjoyed helping with charities. His hobbies included shooting pool, motorcycles, and spending time with family and friends. Ernie lived his life to the fullest. He will be missed by all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by three brothers, Walter Reeves, William Reeves, and Eddie Reeves.
He is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Shelia Reeves; two sons, Edward Reeves and Troy Reeves; three grandchildren, Devyn Reeves, Hunter Reeves, and Skyler Reeves; brother, Sherman Reeves (Sherry); nieces, Christy Reeves, Angie Brown, Melissa Brown, and Ramona Reeves; nephews, Dion Reeves and Robert Reeves; great nephew, Brayden; and several extended family members and friends.
Serving as active pallbearers are Rick White, Jeff Cunningham, Christopher Snyder, Dennis White, Hunter Reeves, Lynn Myers, and Dion Reeves.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ernie’s friends that he considered family.
Visitation will be at Hermitage Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 17, 2019 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a Masonic Service at 7:00 pm.
The Celebration of Ernie’s Life will be at the funeral home on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 9:30 am.
Interment will follow at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
