He was born on December 27, 1929 in Shenandoah and was the son of the late Hedley B. and Mamie C. Judd Morris.
On October 1, 1955 he married Virginia Ferrell Morris, who preceded him in death, as well as his grandson, Christopher L. Shifflett.
Ben is survived by a daughter, Vickie Shifflett and son-in-law, Bret; a grandson, Michael Shifflett and companion, Adrienne Herring; a sister Virginia Foltz; numerous nieces and nephews; and his extended family at Journey’s Crossing in Elkton where he had resided since November 2014.
Ben was a United States Army veteran and retired from Walker Manufacturing. He was a life member of Shenandoah Volunteer Fire Company and Shenandoah Volunteer Rescue Squad.
He was also preceded in death by his brothers, John, Harold, Gary, Louis and Leroy Morris; his sisters, Gladys Comer, Elsie Housden and Ruth Rodgers.
The family will receive friends 6-8 pm, Thursday, May 2, 2019 at Lindsey-Kyger Funeral Home in Shenandoah. Honoring his wishes he will be cremated.
A graveside service will be held 11 am, Friday, May 3, 2019 at Rest Haven Community Cemetery with Pastor Jonathan Lamb officiating.
