He was born January 17, 1956 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, to Chester Noel and Dorothy Ruth (Peterson)
Tollefson.
Michael came to Greeley as a young boy where he attended Greeley schools. He graduated from Greeley West High School in 1974.
On January 20, 1978, he married Kathy Anita Vohs in Greeley.
Following graduation, he started his work career. Michael worked at U.S. Welding for several years and retired as a manager. He was a member of Greeley/Evans Moose Lodge No. 909.
He loved to go hunting, fishing, camping, and boating. He also loved his “grand-dog” Destiny. But above all was the time he spent with his family.
Michael is survived by his wife, Kathy; a daughter, Shanna Martinez (Alex) of Greeley; a son, Michael Tollefson Jr. (Jennifer) of Greeley; his mother, Dorothy Tollefson of Greeley; 3 grandchildren, Sophia Martinez, Noah Tollefson, and Olivia Tollefson; a sister, Connie Hail (Jack) of Greeley; and a brother-in-law, Steve Vohs of Greeley. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Steven Tollefson.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 20, 2019 at Stoddard Funeral Home. Private Family Interment at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
