Alberto Ortega

Alberto Ortega, age 71, passed away on May 25, 2019 in Dallas, Texas. He was born April 18, 1948 in Hidalgo, Texas to Regino Ortega and Hortencia Martinez. Alberto was raised in Edinburg, Texas and attended Travis Elementary in 1956. He worked installing drywall throughout the area for many years. In his spare time, he loved to wash windows, working in the fields, and with scrap metal. His family and friends will always remember him as flaco or El Boracho. Mr. Ortega was preceded in death by his father, Regino Ortega; mother, Hortencia Martinez; son, Joe Ortega; and sister, Dolores Nevares; brothers, Severo Ortega and Marcos Garza. He is survived by his girlfriend, Beverly Halls; daughter, Leticia O. Nanez and her husband Eulalio Nanez; sons, Antonio Ortega, Nicholas Young; sister, Santa Campos; half sister, Rebecca O. Bermea; brother, Richard Ortega; half brother, Arturo Ortega, Regino Ortega, Jr.; granddaughters, Mary Lou Martinez and Lisa Marie Nanez; great grandson, Matthew Skyler Martinez; and grandson Gabriel Nevares. He was loved by many more sons, daughters, half brothers, half sisters, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. His memory will be cherished by all of his family and friends.
