Born in Pawtucket, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Ella (Wilcox) Betz.
She was active in many community organizations throughout her life. She had a great love of animals, nature and gardening. She was active in the Pawtucket Congregational Church where she sang in the choir and later in the First Christian Congregational Church in Swansea, MA.
She and her husband George traveled extensively in their motor home “The Magic Bus”, often times to model yacht regattas where George sailed his EC12 sail boat and Norma often kept score. They lived for many years in Touisset Point in Warren where they were active in the Community Club. She was a wonderful person and will be missed by all who knew her.
She is survived by her children, Susan Greenhalgh Viveiros and her husband Peter of Tiverton and David Greenhalgh and his wife Susan of Barrington, son-in-law, Stanley Larkin, Jr. of NJ, three grandchildren, Todd Larkin and his wife Ann-Marie, Michelle Greenhalgh and Ian Greenhalgh, as well as one sister, Jocelyn Seaward of Lincoln. Norma was predeceased by her daughter, Nancy Greenhalgh Larkin and her siblings, Norwood “Woody” Glassey, Rhoda Hammond, Ralph Glassey and her sister-in-law Brenda Glassey.
Her Funeral Services will be private and are in the care of Waring-Sullivan Home at Birchcrest. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to, the First Christian Congregational Church “The Little White Church”, 1113 G.A.R. Highway, Swansea, MA 02777.
