It is with great sadness that the family of Thomas Edward Madden announce his passing on Sunday, June 9th at the age of 94. He was preceded by his wife of over 70 years; Virginia 2 years prior. He fought a courageous battle to live. Tom will be remembered for his faith, love, and wisdom by his 3 children Sueann (Bill), Paula (Ken), Doug (Linda). Tom’s greatest joy was to pour into his six grandchildren; Hollie (Chad), Ryan (Jenny), Megan (Kyle), Danny (Michelle), Melanie (Steven) and Colleen (fiancé Brett). His life was made complete, by watching and playing with his 10 great grandchildren Charlie, Lydia, Luke, Ivy, Isabel, Beau, Elle, Nora, Jameson, and Olivia.
Tom spent his whole life in Rochester, raised by his loving parents along with his 9 siblings. Surviving are his brothers Jim and Paul Madden. He served as 1st lieutenant in World War II as a B-17 navigator and POW. He returned home to complete his education, start a family, and was then employed at Barton Malow for 38 years. His passion for golf extended to his children and grandchildren. Above all his faith in God was of upmost importance.
Visitation will be held at Pixley funeral home in Rochester on Friday June 14th from 4 to 8 pm. A celebration of life service will be held at Faith Church on Saturday June 15th at 11 am. Faith Church is located at 160 W. Hamlin Road in Rochester Hills. The family will receive guest prior to the services from 10 to 11 am.
Memorial contributions can be kindly made in Tom’s honor to either Wounded Warrior Project, St Jude Children's Hospital, or Shriners Hospital for Children.
