Eliot was born on August 30, 1931 in Flushing, New York to John Eliot and Audrey McCormack. He received his Bachelors and Masters degrees in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University, and worked in the cable and power industries in New York State. He married Liljen Ronnow from Denmark on April 11, 1964 and raised a daughter, Christina and son, Scott in New York.
Eliot was an avid sailor and woodworker. He enjoyed pursuing these hobbies during his years in Rhode Island with his wife. His character was defined by his strong dedication to family, willingness to help others, and a warm sense of humor. His most cherished times were spent with family –especially when sailing in the Caribbean. His sailing experience culminated with his participation in the Newport-Bermuda offshore sailing race.
Eliot was preceded in death by his father, John, and his mother, Audrey. He is survived by his wife Liljen, his two children- Scott and Christina, five grandchildren, and his sisters, Cynthia and Pat.
A Celebration of his Life will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 1pm – 4pm at the Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral Home located at 1200 S Bagdad Rd, Leander, Texas 78641
In recognition of Eliot’s achievement learning to walk again with a prosthesis at the age of 76 the family has selected Limbs for Life charity for those interested in making a memorial contribution.
