Bonnie Irene Hamon

Bonnie was born on February 3rd, 1949 in Miami, Florida. She spent most of her childhood years growing up in Miami and North Miami; moving to Atlanta, Georgia at the age of fourteen. Bonnie worked at the famed Dante’s Down the Hatch in Atlanta for fifteen years, where she made many lasting friendships and fond memories. In 1991 she began her career with Big B Drugs, which eventually became CVS Health. She retired from CVS Health in 2015 after 24 years of service.

Bonnie is survived by her life partner of 28 years, Paula Hennessee; her brothers Richard and Joy Hamon of Williamsburg, VA, David and Sharon Hamon of Peachtree City, GA, and Robert and Linda Hamon of Orange City, FL. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews of several generations, whom she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Kenneth and Louise (Cannon) Hamon.

Bonnie was known for her joyful personality, radiant smile, positive attitude and absolute love of life. She was a gentle, caring soul with twinkling eyes and a cunning sense of humor who never met a stranger. Bonnie’s favorite pastime was adventuring with the love of her life, Paula. Together they enjoyed camping, outdoor music festivals, concerts, and traveling. She equally relished her quiet time at home tending to her beloved “fur-babies” or just simply being outdoors in nature. Bonnie never met a horse she didn’t love and found creative ways to be around them or ride whenever she had the opportunity.

Bonnie had countless treasured friends and extended family. She was an inspiration to those who witnessed her courageously face her battle with cancer with unwavering faith and optimism; never allowing it to dull her spirit.

There will be a Celebration of Life for Bonnie on Sunday, July 14th from 2p-5p at American Pie Pizzeria, located at 927 Maple Street, Carrollton, GA. 30117
