My deepest Sympathy.  He was an honest, fair, and caring individual.  I have lost a good friend. 

I will always remember Uncle Tom's smile and hospitality. I'm grateful I got to see him so many times in my life because he would be at every major family wedding, anniversary, birthday or funeral. I'm glad I spent a lot of time talking to him last year when my husband and I visited Cleveland. It was inspiring to hear about his career, commitment to family and how he served the community. I will always remember the wisdom he shared and generosity he showed me.  He was well respected by so many people and he will truly be missed. 

Thomas was my wife’s first cousin.  When we first got married I often heard Lydia mentioned Tien Sun Ge Ge (big brother Tom). Then over the years I have met Thomas in many occasions. He always showed up at relatives’ weddings, anniversaries, and funerals. He was very passionate, caring, thoughtful and generous. He especially cared for the elderly and young generations. My daughter Larissa is a singer, when ever she performs at Cleveland and near by cities, Thomas always so supportively came to her concerts. Lydia and I feel so bad that we are unable to come to Cleveland to pay our last respects to our beloved cousin Tom due to health conditions.  Indeed, he will be greatly missed.j

My cousin Thomas took care of me when I attended Southwestern University in 1962. It was a short gathering because he graduated that year and moved to Iowa to pursue his graduated study in Iowa University. I remembered once he took me to a helicopter ride to view the whole city of Georgetown,Texas. He is kind and caring cousin. I cherish the fond memories. My cousin Thomas is always dear to my heart. I miss him. May God bless his family.

The word of Tom's passing was communicated via an email to a good number of Tom's former work associates from Cole National . The number of people who responded to that email with fond and kind words about Tom's generosity, kindness & stories about how Tom helped them with their careers was very touching.  These memories are the true measure of the goodness of Tom. We were blessed to have him in our midst. Rest in peace Tom

I moved from the San Francisco Bay Area to Cleveland to study harp performance at the Cleveland Institute of Music in 2007.   My Auntie Yolanda Koo told me I had an "Uncle Tom" who lived nearby and put me in touch with him and his wife.  Though a distant relative, he was a source of support to me during my years in Cleveland - inviting me to spend weekend afternoons with him and Auntie Hue Li for lunch or dinner or to hang out at their neighborhood's pool, a nice break from the practice room! I referred to those visits as going to "Uncle Tom's cabin."  My parents and I enjoyed connecting and getting to know both of them and I will never forget their generosity and care extended to me, especially when I first arrived to Ohio.  

You are an inspiration to me to pursue excellence, and to care for others.  Thank you, Uncle Tom. 

Thomas was a junior when I came to Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas. He was a caring big brother and our association had benefited me greatly. Helpful advice and trips to various cities and events come to mind, including the Texas State Fair and the long drive to New York City and the Catskill Mountains. An outstanding swimmer, Thomas was a hero to us GDI's (Goddam Independents); he routinely swept the swimming meets as a member of the GDI "fraternity". Constance and I harbor fond memories of our two visits with him and Hue-Lee, once in Minneapolis and once in Cleveland.  We had planned to visit him next month when we drive to Stevens Point, WI and are saddened that it is not to be. We shall miss Elder Brother but are grateful that our paths have crossed. 

I got to know "Uncle" Thomas when he lived in Dallas for a short time.  It was great to see him reconnect with his uncle, my grandfather.  They went on road trips together.   At one time, my parents were out of town, so he and Grandfather Kaung took my brother and me around Dallas that included a museum visit.   He was the adventurous uncle.  Later, when I was a college student in Rochester, NY, he did my taxes, because my family were out of the country.  He was known to my family as the tall and strong uncle.  I know he will be greatly missed, and he'll always be special to the Kaung family.

Tom   Was a great business associate, smart and loyal . We became good friends . We spent endless hours together solving problems and creating opportunities.   Also eating Chinese food . Even skiing out west once 
He was kind , honorable and generous and was proud of his accomplishments and of his family . 

He made tremendous contributions to Cole National . He stood ready to meet any challenge . He provided strength and support for all of us

I worked for Tom at Cole National in the Corporate office - Tom was a very good man - patient, caring & smart. I learned much from Tom. He will be missed, a man as good as Tom is hard to find.
