Vernon Lloyd Sexton

Bud was born in High Point, August 19, 1926, a son of the late Eddie B. Sexton and Ellen Stroud Sexton. He was a proud Navy veteran, serving in both W.W. II and Korea. Bud retired from Piedmont Ford Truck sales after 42 years of service. He was a member of Vickrey United Methodist Church. Bud was an avid golfer and a diehard Braves fan. He was preceded in death by his wife of 68 years, Betty Jane Campbell Sexton; two sisters, Margaret Byrd and Shay Campbell; two brothers, Harold Sexton and Penn Sexton.

Surviving are two daughters, Beverly Bennett and Barbara Sexton; a son, Brad Sexton and wife Nancy; a sister, Alberta Johnston; a brother, Buck Sexton and his wife Carol; three grandchildren, Kelly Hill, Karla Tate and Emily Laws; and seven great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Bud's life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Davis Funeral Home Chapel by Pastor Jim Raines. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. Saturday until the service.
