Theston was born in Bladen County, NC on the thirtieth of January 1940 to the late John and Viola Skipper Smith. He was US Air Force veteran and was a retired Air and Electric Tool repairman. Theston was a man who loved gardening, listening to music and the Ocean.
Survivors include his loving wife, Yolanda Carraway Smith; a son, Freddie Smith and wife Diane of Stanley, NC; a daughter, Thela Smith of Charlotte, NC; a step-son Frank Kiger, Jr., and wife Lisa of Hilton Head, SC; two step-daughters, Tonya Sacco and husband Troy of Charlotte, NC, Monica Kiger of Charlotte, NC; two sisters, Sheila Thigpen and Cissy Matthews both of Georgia; grandchildren, A.J., Treaton, Cameron, Carson, Samira; great grandchildren, Ryder, Hayden and Maximus.
A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at three o’clock in the afternoon on Saturday the twenty seventh of July 2019 in the White Funeral & Cremation Service Chapel, Bolivia/Supply with The Reverend Dr. Rudy Ramphal officiating.
