Brad Carey

Brad Murray Carey passed away peacefully surrounded by family on July 10, 2019 at the age of 44. He was predeceased by his Grandfathers, Murray and Bud and Grandmother, Ethel. Brad is survived by his wife Audrey and two daughters, Emily and Erin, his parents Ed and Lorie, his brother Robert and children Tomas and Adara, his sister Cynthia and daughter Amber and his maternal grandmother Irene as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. Brad was born in Regina on November 14, 1974 and was raised in Saskatoon from the time he was 3 ½ years old.

Brad went to College Park and Evan Hardy schools. It was at Evan Hardy that he met his first love and eventual wife Audrey Mocknowed. Brad was a good provider for his family, working hard his entire life. They shared many family memories, especially a trip to Kelowna, BC and another to Disneyland. He was very proud at each daughters Grade 12 graduation. Brad and Audrey took a wonderful trip to Europe in 2016. They visited London, Paris and Barcelona. Good Rider fans that they both are, they took their jerseys with them.

Brad worked in a few different hotels and restaurants in Saskatoon and was especially proud to obtain his Red Seal Chef papers! He catered to many a family or friend special occasion, most notable was his parents 25th Wedding Anniversary, a very memorable day. He also invested in himself by purchasing a Canada Bread Franchise and was his own boss for 10 years! He was excited to have sold his franchise earlier this year and was making plans for the future.

Brad loved cooking and his first love was preparing a great meal. He enjoyed mentoring under various chefs in Saskatoon and tried his hand at some black box competitions! Brad was always sharing great recipes on social media! He cooked professionally at the Saskatoon Inn, a job he really enjoyed.

A come and go Celebration of Brad’s Life will be held at the Saskatoon Inn on Sunday July 21 between 1-5 pm. Bring your memories and stories of Brad and join his friends and family to celebrate his life.
