Dennis Everette Dormanen was born in Dearborn, Michigan on June 21, 1944 to the late Evert and Inga Dormanen. He was one of five children. Dennis passed away peacefully under the gentle care of Angela Hospice in Livonia, Michigan on July 20, 2019 at the age of 75.
Dennis was the beloved husband of the late Anna who went to prepare a place in Heaven for him in 2003. Father of Julie. Dear brother of Jeannie Lipka, Judy (Jerry) Erickson, Linda Collins, Phyllis Serman, and Deanna (Bruce) Bell.
"Denny" was a proud United States Army Veteran. He retired as an auto-body technician from Gordon Chevrolet. However, he did body-work out of his garage as well as many friends body shops. He loved anything with an engine and was an avid outdoorsman. His flower gardens were immaculate and vibrant. Dennis was generous to a fault. In addition to the many charities he supported, he gave two bicycles to "Toys for Tots" yearly. Denny enjoyed classic cars, hot rods, motorcycles, snowmobiling, boating and camping in his RV. He had an extensive collection of nautical items including handmade lighthouses. However, his passion was his close circle of friends. He would do anything for anyone. He will be deeply missed by everyone who was lucky enough to know him.
Guests will be received for a visitation on Thursday, July 25, 2019 from 2-8pm at Harry J. Will Funeral Home 34567 Michigan Avenue, Wayne, Michigan 48184 (2 block east of Wayne road). A funeral service will be at the funeral home on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 11am. The funeral services will be led by Pastor Richard Smith.
Dennis will be laid to rest with his beloved wife Anna in Our Lady of Hope Cemetery, Brownstown Township, Michigan. Military honors will be provided by the United States Funeral Honors Team and The Downriver Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorial Donations may be made in Dennis' name to the Genesee County For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum.
