Claudia "Delle" O'Delle McKinney

Claudia O’delle “Delle” McKinney, 78, passed away Saturday, August 31, 2019 in Gladewater surrounded by her loving family. A Celebration of Delle’s Life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, September 4, 2019 at The Chapel of Lakeview Funeral Home. Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Lakeview Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lakeview Memorial Gardens.

Claudia O’delle Wright was born May 15, 1941 in Tyler, Texas to William Fred Wright & Ina Ethel Scruggs Wright. She was a hairdresser for over 35 years & after retiring she took care of the elderly. Delle loved people & loved to talk. She never met a stranger, especially when it came to children. She just had a way of connecting with them like no other. Delle was a great cook & also loved to travel. Her greatest passion in life was her family. She was always there for them & adored her grandbabies more than anything. She had a special love for her dogs too; most all of the dogs she had during her life were named Missy! Delle’s sassy & passionate spirit will never be forgotten & she will be greatly missed by those who loved her most.

Delle was preceded in death by her parents; & her siblings, James Wright, Floyd Wright, Glenn Wright, & Loneta Flowers.

She is survived by her loving husband of almost 26 years, Sammy; daughter, Pam Simmons & husband Glenn; son, Timothy McCormick & wife Cynthia; grandchildren, Carl “Scootie” McCormick, Stephanie Domer, Tosha Wragg, Micalah Boddy, Breann Boddy, & Misty Schoonover; great grandchildren, Brieanna, Cody, Austin, Ryan, & Cooper McCormick, Logan, Megan, & Will Domer, Cylie, Layla, Slayden, Grayson, & Cameron Wragg, J.D. Simmons, Heaven & Xander Schoonover, & Onna & Lincoln Haskins; siblings, Ozella Griffin, Sarah Bell, Barbara Mulligan, Clifford Wright, Donny Wright, & David Wright; & numerous nieces, nephews, cousins & other family members & friends who loved her dearly.
