Derek was a good kid who turned into a good man. He will be missed. To live in the hearts of those you love is to never truly die.

Derek was a kind and respectful young man. I still remember moving to Waynesburg in 2010 and appreciating the way that he welcomed me as a supporter of Waynesburg Central High School basketball. Derek was just a great guy. Handsome, poised, friendly, intelligent, well-spoken, certainly never met a stranger. My favorite Derek quote: "Hi Riff Raff!" in the front yard of my mother's house. Scott and I were saying yesterday that a world without Derek Lohr in it just doesn't seem right. We are absolutely sick about this. Lenny, Patty, Payton, we are so very very sorry for your loss.
