Celebration of Life Gathering will be held, 5:00 pm, Saturday, September 14, 2019 at The Church at Rockwood, 19626 NE Glisan Street, Portland, Oregon 97230.
Joann was born in Chicago Illinois to Theodore W. and Anna Kathryn (Muehlethalea) Dons on March 4, 1930 in Chicago, Illinois. She attended Sterling College and earned an Elementary Education degree and met her pastor Husband Charles Johnson and were married 37 years. They served churches in St. Louis, Denver, Los Angeles and Kansas City while raising 5 children. Her love of Children made her a beloved elementary/preschool teacher, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
Her travels took her all over the world with favorites being any place her family was, the beach or Disneyland! She spent her last 2 years at Brookdale Mt. Hood in Gresham Oregon.
Joann was proceeded in death by her husband Charles and sons, James and Mark. She is survived by her daughters, Linda Johnson of Gresham Oregon, Kathryn Dodson (Brian) of Olathe Kansas, Susan Wenger (Mike) of Denver Colorado and daughter-in- law Melanie Johnson Smith of Kansas.
14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.
