He was born to the late Jones and Ester Alexander on April 7, 1928. He is predeceased by his loving wife of 62 years, Helen Shook Alexander. Mr. Alexander was a loving, Christian man who enjoyed spending time with his family. Early in life Mr. Alexander served his county in the U.S. Coast guard on the ship the “Frying Pan” Lightship.
Survivors include his son, Eric Alexander and wife LaDonna of Statesville; a daughter, Cynthia Strauss and husband Sterling of Jamestown, NC; grandchildren, Devin and Kyle Alexander of Statesville; and great grandchildren Kaylin and Lahna Alexander also of Statesville.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday September 25th from 6-8 pm at Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. A Funeral service will be held on Thursday September 26th at 10:30am in the chapel of Bunch-Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Sharon Lutheran Church.
