Kevin once told me that in life we meet about 5 people that determine your direction in life. For me, Kevin was one of those people. His wit, sense of humor and love for life will be greatly missed. 
When I spoke to him last he spoke fondly of his children and was excited for their future. He enjoyed the Gulf shores and seemed to find a sense of peace there. 
Until we meet again my old friend.

Kevin was the most loving, caring gentle giant with the biggest heart. In one of the darkest moments of our lives, Kevin and Maria were there. Our hearts are broken for a loss too soon. Our prayers are with the family as you say goodbye, for now, to this beautiful soul.  His memory will live on, because of his legacy left with so many.

Kevin was an extremely rare individual and a precious gift to those whose lives he touched.  He had an inherent ability to make one feel valued as an individual when communicating with him.

Now sadly he has far too early taken his celestial journey leaving behind many who will always cherish the love and kindness he so graciously gifted to those around him.

I feel totally blessed that I was able to know Kevin, he was always someone who would be there for his family and friends. Kevin was a   person that had an incredible personality, one that would always make you laugh, would share your grief, or just listen and support you when things were bad. All of the memories have flooded me all week, all the times we spent together, all the funny things and times we had. My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends , I hope and pray that his children will know how many people Kevin touched in his life in a positive way, and know how respected he was. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. As Brian said to me , remember the good times. Kevin may be gone, but he will always be remembered. The best words to describe my uncle are warmth, kindness, generosity. He was positive and loving to a fault, and he didn’t have a bad word to say about anyone. He was one of the first people to step in and help somebody when they needed it, no questions asked. I remember hearing that my uncle was one of the first ones to show up to my pinning ceremony when I graduated nursing school, and that memory still brings tears to my eyes. He supported his loved ones in all of their endeavors, and shone with pride over his family’s accomplishments, especially for his children. His strength and great sense of humor helped my family through some very dark times in our lives, which is part of why it’s so hard to believe he isn’t here now. Out of everything, his garden was one of the most beautiful things I remember about him. I keep saying that he had the same effect on people around him that he did on his garden. His warmth was a constant, like a light in all of our lives. I still can’t believe he’s gone. 

You will be missed Mr Kevin O’Connell...  The Farrell’s  cherish the time we got to spend with you.  Rest In Peace our friend!!!

My nephew Kevin was a warm, intelligent, creative gem.  He shined in the eyes of everyone who knew him.  He and Maria took wonderful care of his mother Barbara in their home for years when she became ill.  When my husband and I visited them prior to her death in 2011, we enjoyed his humor and his conversations.  He had this ability to speak knowledgeably on any subject you can think of.  His love of botany was evident.  He spoke about his plants like they were his children, and like his children, his garden was wonderful.  We will miss him.

To the entire O’Connell family- we are so saddened by the loss of Kevin! Tj and I loved him dearly and enjoyed time we spent with him! His laugh was contagious and hilarious; probably one of my favorite things about him! He was truly a kind, gentle giant! I am so sad that Jackson will not get to meet him, but I am certain his memory will live on through his children, brothers and extended family! Love and prayers to you all!
