I think about Mike every day- so many good times!

I have your picture on my wall next to Bill's. I watch every Bulldog game on T.V. I always look to the sky before I tee it up at the golf course., and laugh and look up when I miss a two footer because I know you moved the hole haha. 
I really miss you and the  family very much. I know you have a purpose in heaven and The Lord chose a very good man, but I truly wish he would have let you stay around a little longer
I really miss you as a friend and someone I could talk to and never gave me any wrong advice, you taught me a lot about life and family and for that I am grateful

Like Mike, I was born and raised in Minot, ND. Mike was a classmate of mine from grade school days at Washington Elementary School until we graduated from Minot High School. He was always a smiling, happy guy, into sports,  with lots of ideas and stories. At our 2013  reunion, (40th!?) pictures were taken of grade school groups. After the Washington school “kids” were bunched up and photographed, Mike quipped that we should all move back to Minot and move into the new condos that were scheduled to be built in the old Washington School site! He also suggested we take a group cruise for our next reunion.  Both ideas were met with enthusiastic response from the classmates... until the now non-residents considered winter. But the reunion cruise was still a great idea. Mike will always be part of my fond youthful Minot memories. I’m glad he had such a great family, friends and life. We all just wish his life had been longer.

Mike was the best friend  I could have asked for. The good times, the memories, they will be with me forever. Thank you my friend until we met again.  Rest in  peace Mike.

It is heartbreaking to learn of Mike's passing.  My prayers are with Jennie, Lindsay, Courtney and the entire Schwan family.

Mike and I met as neighbors in the early 90's.  We quickly became friends after chatting up sports.  We even talked ourselves into joining the Clovis Adult Basketball League to see how many times we could run up and down the court before calling "time out" to rest.   Later we played softball together.  He was such a fun competitor and could place a softball pitch wherever he wanted.  All of us enjoyed being around him.

Though our busy schedules in recent years prevented us from getting together as much as we would have liked, Mike always greeted me with a hug and his big smile as we got caught up on our families and old times.  If I ever needed to find Mike in a crowd to say hello, I just had to look to where the laughter and joy was coming from and I knew Mike was somewhere in the middle of it.

RIP Mike.  My family and I were lucky to have known you.  Will always cherish your friendship.

If you were fortunate enough to be a friend of Mike Schwan, you gained a life time supporter.  He did not consider you a friend, you were family.   He loved to take of the people in his life.    It always brought me comfort as I knew if I ever needed Mike, he would be there with a plan and huge smile on his face.  He helped me be a better person both personally and professionally.   He took me, a young new professional at the time, under his wing.  He told me what I need to hear; whether it was that I was doing a great job, or even at times that I could have done better.  I always knew Mike wanted me to be the best I can be and he would everything in his power to make sure I succeeded.   For that I will be forever grateful.   
His zest for life and love for you all was amazing to witness.  When I think of Mike and all the memories I have with him, I smile.  I loved watching him.  His laugher, his expressions, his stories about your family, and how he threw his whole self into everything he did.    Mike was one of kind, irreplaceable to many, irreplaceable to me.  He will always hold a special place in my heart.    Be proud of the man he was and that his investment in so many will live on.

Mike was a high school classmate.  It was awesome to catch up with him on Facebook and again in person at our last reunion.  We disagreed about many things and on more than one occasion he asked "Do you hate me now, are you going to unfriend me".  My answer was always the same..."I could never hate you and we will always be friends".  Mike was very encouraging and supportive of my recent move to the US Virgin Islands and said he was looking forward to pictures and updates and visiting me here someday.  Sadly, I learned of his passing in the Minneapolis airport the day I left the states.  To Mike's family, you have my deepest sympathy.  He will be missed by many.  Rest in sweet peace my friend, until we meet again.

As we go through life we meet allot of people. None like my friend Mike Schwann.  What a guy, kind, thoughtful, caring, passionate and fun guy to be around person. His laugh I will never forget, he would light up the room.
We all knew what made him the happiest, Jennie, Courtney, Lindsey, and his amazing  family. We know that because he shared it with us, his work family. We - his work family want his family to know how special he was to us too.  We know how deeply you all will miss him because we  do too. 
From the day I met him he treated me like a friend he knew his whole life, that was just Mike. You wanted to hang out with him. He was a leader and expert in our industry. 
If there is ever a Hall of Fame for HVAC Controls guys I nominate Mike Schwann as the example of what we all strive to be. 
 I cannot tell you all how much he helped me and boy did we have fun. From my family and the entire Honeywell controls family, God bless you Mike, thank you God for letting me know this great man. You are gone too soon my friend but you will never be forgotten.

So sorry to hear of Mike's passing. We were good friends from 1st grade through 12th. We shared many memories throughout those years. Especially our love for baseball and the 3 years we were locker partners. RIP, my friend.

I met Mike about 15 years ago at one of his backyard barbeque fund raisers for Fresno State, and we remained good friends since then. Mike was the kind of person who I wanted to be. Fun, loving, caring and always there for you. He always had a smile on his face. I will miss him. I know he's smiling down on us...yelling...Go Dogs!! 

I only met. Mike a few times during my marriage to Elva.  He always made me feel welcomed and treated me like family. I liked him as soon as I met him. How could you not he was so friendly and out going ,and was always laughing, and always wore a big smile on his face. He was very special and will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by all who were lucky enough to know him. Till we meet again R.I.P. Mike

Jennie, words can not convey my sadness for you and your family. Mike was a truly amazing man. I still remember when we first met at Knudsen Dairies and immediately hit it off. He introduced Monica and I to escargot when the four of us went to Imperial Dynasty for dinner so many years ago. After losing Monica to cancer he invited me to join you two to tailgate and watch the Bulldog football game, this meant so much more to me at that time than you could imagine. You will be in my prayers! This truly breaks my heart...Love to you and your family.

I have known Mike from going to Washington Elementary Grade School up through Minot Senior High School in Minot, ND and reconnected through Facebook. 

Mike...even though we had not kept in touch throughout the years, I was able to see through all of your posts the wonderful devoted family man and awesome leader you were in everything you did...your parents raised you and your siblings so very well..and you kept your North Dakota roots with you throughout your life.  When everyone says you gave 110%, that was easy to see you did just that!! 

 Mike delivered the newspaper in our neighborhood, so his hard work and dedication started at a very young age.

What can I say, Mike and I were close as brothers in high school.  In fact, Mikes brothers and sisters were like my second family.  I remember playing a card game called Canasta with Mike and Lugardia.  So many great memories of Mike like the time he had his St Bernard dog pull him on his bike while delivering papers.  Mike you are with our Lord now, and I hope someday we see each other again.  Love ya man!

Thoughts and prayers for the Schwan family during this time of tremendous loss.  Mike was a big personality and his passing will leave a void for many of us but none more so than his family which he was so proud of.  I never had the opportunity to meet them but I feel like I know them through all his stories about his girls growing up and the joy his grandchildren brought him.  He had a passion for everything he did, church, family, work and play he always gave 100%.  We could use more people like that in this world, he will be deeply missed.

Everyone in CGNA grieves the loss of your husband.  Many of us considered Mike a dear friend and he will be missed greatly.  I've been replaying the time I stayed with you and broke my foot in your living room.  Both of you were so gracious.  It still hurts from time to time and I think of my friends in Fresno and smile.  

May the Lord be with you and your family in a special way at this difficult time.

I cannot begin to express how wonderful you were. I always loved your Facebook pictures of you and Jennie. Also your family pictures. You just loved your family and Jennie so much! I loved that! You were the greatest boss I have EVER had! You have always supported me through my breast cancer, chemo and most recently, me trying to go back to work after my 2 years of cancer stuff. 

Thank you for being a part of my life. You will always be "Boss" to me. I will miss you. I bet you are already helping others in Heaven!

Ahhh Schwanny!!!! I can’t believe it man! I just talked to you last week and we were supposed to have lunch this week! I ate lunch without ya and couldn’t stop crying. I’m in tears right now man!! Loved your smile, loved your heart and loved that you loved the Bulldogs as much as I did! So happy you got to see the QBC growing again and we reconnected. Bulldog Born and Bulldog Bred...Schwan, you were a true Bulldog until the day you died. I want to be like you when I grow up! Love you buddy. God bless you and your beautiful family! #legend 

Mike was one of the most gracious hosts for all of his families events. He loved to spoil all family and friends with his wonderful bbq and food he cooked. He will be missed by the Weibert family for the way he was so open and gracious to us. We Will be here anytime, day or night, whenever and whatever you may need. 

Mike was one of the most generous and hard-working people I've ever met. When Hinds Hospice bought our current Patient & Family Service Center, Mike was one of the very special "Building Buddies" who stepped forward to spend countless hours installing equipment - often at little or no cost thanks to him - which was desperately needed.  After we moved in, Mike continued to take very good care of the Hinds Hospice team.  

Still, what I loved most about Mike was the obvious love and devotion he had for his family - and for the Bulldogs. The stories he shared about "gourmet tailgating" - and about the very special "free" pit bbq he created in his backyard made me laugh so hard I cried.  

What a wonderful man...he is sorely missed. 



When we hear his name we think of that great smile.

When we hear his name we think of a great friend & teammate.
When we hear his name we think of Fresno State Athletics & always saying hi at the basketball games.
When we hear his name we think how happy he was to invite friends over for whatever he was cooking up.

Yourselves as well as our industry lost an icon in Mike.  We have enjoyed our relationship for many, many years and I consider myself fortunate to be included in his friends. I had the honor of learning HVAC controls from Mike. We worked together on projects for the last twenty years. He will truly be missed. My thoughts are with the Schwan family. 

Jennie and family, this is so hard and such a shock. I've known Mike since high school and admired him greatly. Truely a giant life force. You are in my prayers and hope that faith, family and friends help you during difficult times.
