I will miss you my dear friend Agnes!! You spent your life making people around you feel special,  always made sure your husband, children, and apos are taken cared of.  You also made sure you stayed connected with your friends around the world, by using technology/ video calling. You remembered birthdays and set aside time in your busy schedule to greet your friends, letting them know you cared! You always think of how to make other people’s lives better and happier,  that even at the end of life you gave the gift of organ donation so others may continue to live! I am so honored to be one of your friends! Rest In Peace, till we meet again.

Ate its been 21 days (Philippine time) since you left us.. I have tried to write  something for you and this is my nth time.. Hopefully, this one will be it.
         Your celebration of life 
party here in Tupi was astounding! Much as we would like to control who will attend it, we failed.. You have many friends and their friends are your friends. You are awesome, ate..
           You are my sounding board in times when I have  something that's weighing on my mind. You will tell me to just take it and move on.. I will miss those call of yours regardless what time and where I am.. You are unpredictable. I admit there are times it irritates me because most of those times you call its either late at night or at very early morning.. Now I realized that its your way of telling us you care..
               I find it so hard to move on.. Wala na akong ate.. But knowing you are now happy with the Lord, in time, I will move on..
               Please pray for us, your family, as we pray for you and our parents everyday.. We (me, Pinky and Babee) promise to be mothers to your children and lolas to your apos...

Ate, there is no one like you.
In your haste you forgot to say goodbye.
Typical. Spontaneous. 
You left without really meaning to. 
And yet you seemed to have done it purposefully.
I’m now scrambling to hold on to the memories of you and there are plenty of them - sometimes annoying but oftentimes funny and endearing.
I meant to have hugged you more, told you how much I cared, picked up the phone, replied to your incessant messages. 
Should have... Could have...
You will be missed.
You will be loved forever.

I envy my siblings for having no regrets after lola mama’s death. My siblings were always so open towards her: something I never did often. When I was asked to make a love letter for her, I didn’t know what to write or where to begin. Because I’ve never really showed her much love when she was alive which is something I regret deeply. I can’t stand to hear her voice messages, I can’t stand to look at her too long, most of all, I don’t even talk about her that much because I don’t know if I can because it hurts. It hurts so much to know that I will never be able to show her how much I actually love her and how much I regret not ever opening up to her, giving her a chance to spend time with me. I honestly don’t think I have the right to cry, I don’t think I deserve to write her a love letter when I’ve never written her one when she was with us. I’ll never see her smile, feel the warmth of her hug every time she comes back home because I don’t think she’s ever coming back. I have so many, many regrets and I don’t know how to make up for all of them. My biggest regret? is that I never got to tell her “I’m sorry”.
Lola mama, I pray that your afterlife is in a better place where they appreciate all your efforts and tough love. I pray that in your next life, you realize that taking care of yourself is just as important, and sometimes more important than taking care of others. And, Lola Mama, I hope you heard every word in my letter and feel my regret and my love. Lola mama, despite all my regrets, I am somewhat happy; I am happy because even though I did not realize it was the last chat message I sent you, at least I got to say “I love you too”.

Then the missed calls and evaded conversations and neglected messages and unfinished chores came unsolicited, haunting me
Then came darkness - a deep chasm, a bottomless pit, a great void

Perhaps my favourite memory of you was when you came for a brief visit to Calgary and we sat in my kitchen discussing, of all things, the magical uses coconut oil! We laughed a lot that day. You were so happy to share a jar of coconut oil from the farm along with some very yummy tablea and juice.  To the onlooker, it may have seemed that we were just having a boring, everyday conversation, but if they looked closer, they would realize that you spoke of ordinary things with an abundance of joy and conviction.  You spoke of everything that way - your kids, your grandchildren, gardening, cooking, watching volleyball...... everything.  Perhaps that's what I'll miss most about you. Your passion for things you believed in and your ability to share your joy with those around you.
We miss you.  May you rest in peace.

In the short Ten years I’ve been blessed to get to know you Mama, there has been a lasting impression.  From the simple laugher in times of family fun, to some of the emotional talks we had. We had an interesting journey of getting to know each other.  All of these moments together showed me how loving and devoted you are to your family.  I hope even though your are not physically here, I can somehow make you proud.  

Thanks Tita Agnes for welcoming me into your home and sharing with me your delicious cooking. Thanks also for inviting Yeulo to the blue house and feeding him your excellent adobo! We will miss you. Your memories will be with us always. 

When we were in the ER - I asked “NASAN KA NGAYON LORD?!?” 

I was devastated, angry, scared, confused. I needed answers and I wanted everything to go away. Mama received her final prayers and anointing from Father Guy, about 2 hours after she stayed in the ER. After that, I felt that Mama was ready, this was what she wanted. 

Kuya always reminded - we have no regrets, we made her proud. She loved us, unconditionally. But my only regret is I didn’t spend all my time with her. I didn’t try harder. 

I am knowing so much about you still, Ma. You live in the stories, the smiles, the sorrows of those around me. I am learning even more, how amazing, blessed and giving human being you are, or were. I may be scattered and broken right now, but I will try to keep my heart whole so you can live in it, forever. 

I lost everything when you left us. But I have to carry on. I love you.



Ma, this past few days have been a roller coaster ride of emotions. I still cant believe that I can no longer feel your physical presence, that I can no longer say I love you to you and see or hear your response. 

Ma, you have taught me a lot but the most important thing that you’ve taught me is how to love unconditionally. You have missed a lot when we were growing up but you sure made up for the lost times. I know our relationship was not a perfect one but it is in the imperfections that I can now truly appreciate the love that you have given me even in times when I was the one at fault. I realized now that you were just trying to protect me and put some sense into me. 

Ma, i miss you everyday and every minute. What happened that day keeps on playing over and over in my head. I know you chose to be with me that moment for a reason. Ma, I LOVE YOU SO MUCH! Thank you for everything that you have done for me and for my family. I hope that I can be as good of a mother as you. Please guide me, I know you are always here with us.... in our hearts. Rest now my mama, as Kaellin would say “Lola is in heaven, she is happy, Lola loves that place”. You will be missed and will always be loved. 

Gary and I will truly miss you.  Until the very end, we know you still think about us and you cared so much to the point we missed your last day on Earth.  You shelter us from too much emotional event that probably we cannot take due to the situation we are in now. 

We both have the same birth day.  I thank you for all the bday greetings every year.  You are so thoughtful.

This year we talked on the phone and I wont forget the 2 calls for we had a very lengthy conversation.  We can talk for hours and we never run out of stories.  I appreciate all the encouragements on living a full life, the trust you are willing to take when discussing about business partnership, and all the tips we can do on our small farm.

Thank you for your great smile everytime we see you.  We love you tita Agnes and you will be forever in our hearts.

        You filled your life with LOVE and CARE for your family, which was deeply obvious in everything you did...and what a truly FINE and WONDERFUL family you have created and nurtured. Your legacy of honesty and no-nonsense hypocrisy-FREE approach to  life should be a great example for everyone.  You did what you wanted to do, said what you wanted to say, and gave everything your own flavour.  Your deeds may have fallen short of perfection for other people, but they were definitely done with the purest of intention and the cleanest of heart. You may have been gravely misunderstood in your candor and quickness to action, but you certainly cannot be faulted for your bountiful zest for cherishing and caring for your family and friends. Your faith in the Almighty God is admirable and should be emulated, especially in this world where materialism has taken over.  In your own simple way, you have left all of us a lesson..."live your life the way you want, but don't forget that what is most important is the way your life ends!"
        The PEACE and SOLACE with which you were sent to the LORD are clear testimony of how He had answered your prayers, and the gift of LIFE you were able to extend, is an immeasurable treasure that will be an integral part of your legacy.  
        Ernie, Eumir, Bibay, Aika, Eight, Tin...you may feel sorrow and pain from losing Agnes, but relish the thought that her LOVE and CARE for you, her family was her lifelong devotion,  and that she has gone to the place where she had longed to be, with eternal peace and happiness....to be with God Almighty.
        Life goes on, but memories of Agnes will live with us forever. Remember that we are always here whenever you need us....

My best memories with Tita Agnes two weeks prior to her hospitalization she faced time me.  We had a great chat and talked random stuffs she was always so happy and comforting that just lighten my day!  Her positive vibes, generosity and her family devotion given me so much admiration of her life in general!  She was genuinely care everyone and I never met anyone who were passionately care and very loving wife, mother, lola, tita and a friend!   I have a soft spots of tita Agnes and envy her because she taught me how to be a good person like she was  to everyone. Darryl, Sweleen, Sonia and Isabelle devastated that  you’re gone!  You will be missed forever and love you!  

Dear Tiamzon Family,

On behalf of Ramon and our family, please accept our sincerest sympathy.  The pain of losing a loved one is undescribable.  Prayers can help eased the pain and loneliness.  We were fortunate to have met the family, Kumareng Agnes and Kumpareng Ernie  and siblings through Ella and Vernon as we were one of the chosen Ninong and Ninang  on their wedding last July 5, 2019.  I remembered Kumareng Agnes sitting down after the reception with her legs up on the chair, I told her how pretty she was that night and she responded lalo ka na with a sweet smile,  as I can tell how tired and how her feet hurts.    Through her children I could say that she is a perfect mother and daughter of God.  Farewell kumareng Agnes rest in peace,and rest in Gods love,  I'll someday see you there. Ma, 

I distinctly remember the first time I rode on the public bus by myself. You were there to show me how. I was in 5th grade and we were going home from my school and we had just moved in the blue house. You told me to go on the earlier bus, and that you would ride on the following scheduled time. You reassured me that I would be okay, just so long as I follow the instructions you’ve given me. I was so anxious and unsure, because you were no longer by my side when I was on the bus. But I got home safely and as you promised, you were there right behind me. 

This memory will always be how I’ll remember you. Through thick and thin, joy and sadness, you were there. Ready with a comforting embrace. Every learning experience I’ve had, you were there to guide me and support me. Then suddenly, you’re gone, and the anxiety of not having you by my side on that bus is now amplified by a million times, because you’re no longer physically there for the rest of my life. But then I remember the reassurance you gave me before that bus left. You’ll be right behind me, making sure that I’ll be safe. All I need to do is follow your instructions and live by the lessons you and Papa have instilled on us, and I’ll be okay. I love you Ma and I miss you more than words could ever describe. You live on in our memories

I get a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes when I think of your passing. You took me into your home with open and loving arms at a time when there was so much uncertainty in my life. I remember walking with you to the market to buy fresh ingredients for dinner. It was a long walk, passing by beautiful cherry blossom trees and I remember feeling tired then embarrassed because you had way more energy than I did! 

As expected, the meal that night was delicious and I just felt my worries slide away. You had such a wonderful laugh and I will never forget that. Rest in peace, tita Agnes.

My phone rings at 2AM & wakes me from a sound sleep with an FB messenger video call. The screen says Agnes is calling you. I blearily answer it. Mama A's face fills the screen & the first thing she says with that grin of hers is, "Ice, tulog ka na?" I groggily say, "Opo." She laughs & then says, "Si Mama mo?"

My relationship with Mama A is filled with such moments. She'd call at random times of the day & night. She'd drop in at the office with that fast walk of hers, make a beeline for our desks & I'd hear her tell my mum, "Cecille, alam mo ba..." She'd hand me her ever present baon of nilagang saba when I say I'm hungry & say, "Eto, kain ka." She'd be at our meetings, fall asleep & when woken, she'd say, "Nakikinig ako." She'd always wear a bathing suit at the beach & wouldn't hesitate to strike a sassy pose when teased. She'd laugh girlishly when teased about her love life with Papa Ernie. She'd wake up at the crack of dawn & I'd hear her talk about what needs to be done for the day at the tindahan. She'd hear me say I'll be driving to Marbel & she'd say, "Makikisabay ako, Eunice. Pupuntahan ko si Eumir." She showed up with Papa Ern in tow when I had to bake 75 pcs of Banana Chocolate Cupcakes saying, "Pano kami makakatulong?"  

She'd have a ready smile for strangers & a warm hug for old friends. And she was super generous with her time, her laugh & her compassion. Mama A was the embodiment of a life lived vibrantly. Everything she did, she did with gusto. I remember when I was prevaricating about doing something, she'd look at me like I'm thinking things to death and say emphatically, "Ano pa hinihintay mo? Tara na!" She loved life. She loved people. And she loved her family. No reservations. No hedging. She welcomed everything and everyone. She never wasted any time. Every single second counted. Her presence burned brightly in my life.

I love you so much, Mama A. Life will never be the same with your passing. I will never forget you.

Dear Tita Agnes,

I couldn't think of words to describe how i feel about your sudden passing. But i guess you prepared all of us for this... So i'm resending you the note you sent to me a month after you and Tin visited me in Bangkok. It encapsulates how I've always viewed you. I wish i had more time with you. 

 "Someone asked me if i knew you. I smiled and said i admired that woman! She is blessed, careful, kind, sweet and beautiful; a woman filled with the Holy Spirit..."

You will truly be missed Tita Agnes.... Thank you for all the memories, kindness and generosity.  And thank you for all the calls to check how I'm doing even before i came here and specially when i was recuperating. Sobrang tiyaga nyo po sa akin. I will never forget you.

I know you're in a happier place now. I would remain true to my promise to you.   I appreciate your sincerity in everything.

I can not help but feel lucky to have spent time with you last July and August. As always we shared stories over a meal, just letting the hours go by through our stories and laughter. You will truly be missed Ate Agnes, but then you live on because you have raised your children well, and have given that same love to my children as well while they were there in Canada especially Tawtaw and Janelle. You were that big sister to me, especially as I settled here in Marbel without family. I will never forget your laughter, your kindness and sisterly love. Have fun in heaven!

Not everybody is privileged to have a loving, selfless mother-in-law. One who considers you as her own, one who checks out on you everyday. Mama, I really wondered why you really wanted me to go to Canada, thinking that I will leave your grandchildren behind on their own for 22 days. I thought you just wanted me to attend Eight's wedding, see the beauty of Canada and know how big the opportunities await us there.  It is only now that I realized that you wanted me to know the deeper side of you.  You wanted to make  good memories with me. You wanted to build good relationship with me. You wanted to talk to me about everything, about anything.  You wanted to laugh with me.  You wanted to make me feel how much you love me... Last na pala natin yun... And by knowing my "unknown side" of you, you made me realize that you were misunderstood, not just by me, but by so many.  You made me realize that you have a pure heart, a genuine love for us, that love is more shown through actions than through words.  Mama, I am very happy that I have realized these things while you were still with us and I was able to make it up to you kahit papano.  I thank you for raising up a very responsible and loving Husband and father.  Eumir is a reflection of you.  It hurt so bad when my Mamang left us, but it hurts even more to lose another mother.  I love you Mama.
