Robert Steven Mason

ROBERT STEVEN MASON, passed away Wednesday October 23, 2019 in El Paso, Texas. He was born February 26, 1953 in Indianapolis Indiana to Emma F. Mason and Paul R. Mason Sr. He attended Indiana Elementary Public School #44 and during his teenage years he delivered newspapers for money. Robert enjoyed fishing and playing basketball. At an early age he expressed a love for music and learned to play the trumpet at George Washington High School. He became a member of the Washington Continentals marching band and graduated in 1971.

After Robert graduated from high school, he served in the U.S. Army for 6 years. He worked for Dyncorp for many years and was currently employed with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. Robert offered a listening ear and was readily available to help others. He will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Robert was preceded in death by his brother; Paul Mason Jr., sister; Cheryl Mason, father; Paul Mason Sr. and most recently his mother; Emma Mason. He leaves to cherish his memory, sisters; Karen Jones (Grove City, Ohio), Donna Mason (Indianapolis, Indiana), Gladys Mason (Indianapolis, Indiana) brother; Larry Mason (Indianapolis, Indiana) and a host of other relatives.

Visitation will be Wednesday October 30, 2019 starting at 10:00 a.m. with the Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. both at Funeraria Del Angel Evergreen East, 12400 East Montana, El Paso, Texas 79938. Graveside Service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery East.

The Mason family thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers. We also would like to express our deep appreciation and gratitude to The Dream Merchant Band members for their hospitality, acts of kindness and unwavering support during this difficult time.
