The family of Ches Estes notes his passing on Sunday, October 27, 2019.
Ches lived a long life of service to his country, his family, his community and his many friends. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. He was married to Frances for 56 years. Ches joined the United States Air Force at the age of 17 and served 26 years, until his retirement. He then worked for the U.S. Civil Service for another 25 years. Ches was a familiar face while later working and volunteering at the Converse Police Department and the City of Converse. All who knew Ches knew that he enjoyed working, and loved playing cards, especially Texas Hold ‘Em, as well as other games and golf. He could deal a mean hand of Blackjack! He was an avid fisherman and loved to spend time on the Texas Gulf Coast. Ches liked to talk about the many places he visited and lived while in the Air Force. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Ches Estes is survived by his daughters, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, many other family members, numerous friends and his sweet companion, Louanne.
