Mr. McManus passed away on November 17, 2019 in Canton, TX. He was born on March 3, 1940 in Dallas, TX to Hurshel McManus and Willie Faye Hawkins McManus.
Bill, as he was know to friends, grew up in Dallas. He was in USMC for over 21 years and retired as a gunnery sergeant after two tours in Vietnam. He work as a police officer in and around Van Zandt County.
He loved brush hogging and working on his tractor. When not on his tractor he was watching westerns. Bill and his wife Peggy loved to eat out and go to Shreveport. He loved and was loved by his family.
Bill is survived by his sons, Herbert Silva and Joe Silva; brothers, Bubba McManus and Richard Munson; nephews, Brian McManus, Carry McManus and Preston McManus; nieces, Meredith McManus and Ophelia Sikes; grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Hurshel and Willie McManus, wife, Peggy McManus.
Family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at the funeral home.
Interment will be at Haven of Memories in Canton, TX.
