Lorenia Alvarez of Tucson, Arizona passed away on November 24, 2019. She was born in Nogales, Arizona on October 6, 1960 to the late Sergio and Lidia Alvarez. Lorenia graduated from Nogales High School and later went on to graduate with her BSBA from the University of Phoenix. She spent most of her career serving others, specifically helping children. She had a career in social services for over 40 years working for Head Start and the State of Arizona. Lorenia loved her pets, enjoyed going to movies and being surrounded by great food and friends. She is survived by her siblings, Sergio (Andrea) Alvarez, Heriberto (Mini) Alvarez and Olivia Rodriguez; nephews and nieces, Albert Alvarez, Marianna (Ryan) Sand, Sergio (Lya) Alvarez Jr., Melanie Alvarez, Anizza Alvarez, Alexis Alvarez, Diego, Alvarez, Christian Rodriguez, Lizette (Alex) Gutierrez and Julian Rodriguez. She’s also survived by her loving animals, Chanel and Dash. Lorenia is preceded in death by her parents, Sergio and Lidia Alvarez; grandparents, Jeronimo and Agueda Alvarez and Manuelita Lucero and multiple aunts, uncles, aunts and cousins. Please join the family on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 for a visitation from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm at East Lawn Palms Mortuary. A scripture and rosary service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm led by Deacon Richard Grijalva of St. Joseph’s Catholic Parish.
