Kenneth Eugene Fairless, 71, passed away peacefully Sunday morning at Kaiser Hospital in Fresno, CA. He was born in Fresno on December 2nd, 1947 to Virgil and Edith. Ken was a graduate of Tranquility High School and went on to work at San Jose Mercury News in press maintenance.
In the Fall of 1997, Ken started dating the love of his life Connie. Throughout their relationship, Connie and Ken created wonderful memories with their family and friends hunting in Wishon, camping in Pismo, taking the occasional trip to Vegas, spoiling their dog Lucy, and making each other happy. They married on July 24th, 2012 at their home in Fresno.
Ken was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in January 2012. Doctor’s gave him several months to live, but Ken misheard them and lived for several years more. Ken didn’t let the chemo slow him down. He continued to do everything he could to help his loved ones and enjoy life to the fullest. He will always be remembered for his selfless nature, positive attitude, and contagious laughter. Ken’s journey is a testament to the strength of love and the power of the human spirit.
Ken was preceded in death by his parents Virgil and Edith and his son Steven.
He is survived by his wife Connie, mother-in-law Marge, brothers Allen and Mario (Susan), daughter TeAnn Lakeotes, sons Chad Fairless, Mike (Sara) Flynn, and Kevin Flynn, 9 grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Stephens and Bean Funeral Chapel will host the viewing on Sunday, December 1st from 1:00-5:00 p.m. A Graveside services will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens Monday, December 2nd at 11:00 a.m. A Luncheon will follow at the C.P.D.E.S hall in Easton.
