Jimmy was born on July 21, 1967 in Monroe, NC to James Monroe Benton, Sr. and Margaret Ann Williams Stover.
Jimmy graduated from Piedmont High School in 1985. An avid Redskins fan and history buff, Jimmy enjoyed reading and making models.
A devoted father, Jimmy’s greatest love was that of his daughter Ashley.
Jimmy was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Smith and Margaret Benton and maternal grandparents, Hoyle and Mary Wiliams.
Jimmy is survived by his father, Jim Benton and his wife Gail; mother, Margaret Ann Stover and her husband Shannon; daughter, Ashley Nicole Benton; sisters, Suzanne Demby (Cameron), Emily Hilliker (Stewart); step-sisters, Jill Thurman (Trey), Leigh Ann Randolph (Chad) and step-brother, Jeremy Medlock (Suzanne) and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 4 at 1:00 p.m.at McEwen Funeral Home of Monroe. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow at Benton Family Cemetery.
