I am completely heartbroken only having learned of Doug's passing away just yesterday.  I am so sad that I was not able to be there for a final goodbye.

I met Doug at Game Night in 2018. He was my first friend after I decided to start living my life again, and what a great person to have as that first friend. He was kind, smart, and funny. I loved sitting next to him because he was always warm and I was always cold. 

Even though he had some anxiety, he was usually game for an outing. We went to movies, an Escape Room, and dancing! We were even part of a little quartet that played games outside of our regular Game Night group.

We saw less of him after he met Gina as his life's focus changed to their future. I'm so sorry that it was cut short. 

Doug had been on my mind since we have had to play games virtually this year. I was planning to invite him in hopes that he could join some night. Then time sped past and it was his birthday month.  I went on his FB page to wish him a belated happy birthday only to experience this terrible shock. Our whole Game Night group is in mourning; surprised and saddened more than I can express.

My deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved Doug. He held a special place in my heart and will be missed by many.

Doug was a great guy and friend. I never heard him say a bad word about anybody. We rode together, sometimes 300+ miles round trip for Ice-cream with the MC group. I mean, anything for a ride! We went to Jordan, MN to Minnesota'S largest candy store one time. They have most anything. I bought a bottle of "Martian Piss", yes that's the name, and offered Dog a sip. He looked at the name and turned it down. No sense of adventure Doug! Come On! I will miss you buddy!!! 

I say goodbye.  On this day I say goodbye for a lifetime, I wish I did not forget you easily for what you meant to me, but I love you with my heart still dead.  I keep your smile asleep in my memory. I say goodbye and in case with this farewell my most beautiful dream dies inside me, but I say goodbye for a lifetime, although all my life will remember you. You leave me with a great pain in  my heart because I love you, but God wanted it so he knows why things happen, thanks for the beautiful moments we spent together where you and I were happy, with many illusions, many goals thank you because when you met us, you changed our lives but I stay  With the satisfaction that you were happy by my side and reflected it in your eyes, thank you for all the wonderfulness you were as a person and for walking with me hand in hand to each place we lived and because you swore never to forsake me and I know that from the  Heaven you will do it and take care of me, bye love.

Rest In Peace Douglas you will be missed by all of us our sincere condolences to his family!
