My husband and I met Sophia in June of 2019 in Miami with her friend Linda. A quick encounter but definitely someone who had a beautiful soul full of love and laughter. We exchanged stories, and laughs, and within that short encounter we knew she was someone extraordinary. We are saddened with the news, and sending prayers to family and friends.

Hi Girl it’s been a month and I still don’t know what to say! I Miss you more everyday and think of you constantly. I know I was Blessed knowing you for the time the Lord gave us and What a Blessing it was. I can say we had the best of times Always and wonderful memories.  With  all our family ! I love you. I always did.  You were always so kind to me, even in the darkest of times.  You always had a positive energy and light that just simply made people feel better. You inspired me to be a better human being and I thank you for that. Rest in peace dear friend. I will never forget you. 

All I can remember of Sophia from every time I got the chance to spend time with her is how much she always lit up the room with her presence and was always dressed to impress. I'm glad my wife got the chance to meet her at least once, and she'll definitely be missed whenever we visit NC. Rest in peace.

When I seen her obituary, my heart sank in two. A lot of my childhood was spent over at her house. She always made sure to make me feel welcome and loved as one of her own. It’s been years since I’ve talked to her or Elizabeth, but I hope to get back into contact soon. Sending my deepest condolences and prayers for this family during this hard time. May God bring you peace, comfort, and love. 

I had the pleasure of meeting Sophia through the friendship of my daughter and her daughter. Immediately, I could tell she was a wonderful person, so happy and full of life.  She had so much love her for her family and especially her grandchildren.  She will be sorely missed by all.

I've known her for many years. Even though she is not blood she was always family to me. She always was upbeat and cheerful. Sophie truly made the best of her life and lived it to the fullest. My last memory of her was 9/21/19 when she came to my wedding reception. She was beautiful as always! She was dancing and having the time of her life. Sophie was an inspiration to many that knew her. Your memory will live on Sophie.....

Although for me it was a friendly acquaintance at a distance, I have always had a great esteem for dear Sophia.
I join you all familiar in this moment of sadness but I will always carry with me a beautiful memory of her.
Please give her a big kiss for me.

There were many an early morning telephone call (Australian time) to discuss a shipment, then onto more important matters such as kids, holidays and travel.
Your infectious laugh will be missed, as will your upbeat outlook on life.

No words can express what a treasure you were to me.  Working with you over the past 4.5 years was an honor.  You quickly became much more than a coworker - you became one of my closest friends.  We shared many laughs, tears, joys, pains, secrets, dreams, and love.  I will miss you so much.  I think what I will miss the most is seeing the sparkle in your eyes when talking about Jace (that you lovingly called your "punkin' dunkin' wunkin' boy") and Vada (that you lovingly called your "chunky monkey sweetie girl"). I still can't believe I'm never going to see you again in this life! I am so thankful that you were a Christian and had accepted Jesus, because I know you are in a wonderful pain-free place, and I will see you again in Heaven some day and we will share only peace, happiness, joy, and love. Sophia,  you are one of the most beautiful,  strongest, caring, independent, funniest women that I know. You walked into my life the day u started Woodforest years ago. Always had that beautiful smile and making us laugh at work, never a dull moment with you. I rem the day we went shopping at Dillard's. You picked out my Valentine's Day outfit, including the thigh high boots❤  Our friendship was more like a mother/daughter, always making me smile, giving me relationship advice.  When you left we never stopped our friendship. You always came by with hugs, we gossiped and always told me "love ya" before leaving. Elizabeth, you an your babies mean the world to her. She loves y'all more than anything and was so proud of you!! I will cherish our friendship forever. I love you❤

There is so much I want to say about sweet Sophia. I worked with her at Woodforest National Bank. She always had her beautiful smile showing. We were always laughing and she would always start out saying.."girrl, let me tell ya.." There wasn't a soul who didn't like her. She was the most prettiest soul inside and out. After she left the bank, she and Linda always came by to say hey and give us hugs. It breaks my heart to the core but I'm glad she isn't suffering and with our sweet Jesus. I will not stop praying for family and friends. Sophia made an impact in my life by just knowing her. Forever in our hearts. God Bless 

Me and my husband have known Sophia for several years.He has been her hair stylist and we just loved when she came to get her hair done....she always had stories to tell.We had a lot of laughs with you Sophia....Life will never be the same without you!....Such a sweet,wonderful lady!!! Sophia use to help me with my homework in grade school. She would let me read to her and say my sight words to her.In the 5th grade I was selected for the part of Juliet in our big play of Romeo and Juliet. Sophia sat with me each night and helped me rehearse and remember ALL my lines for the big day. Sophia had a big heart and loved unconditionally. Her passing breaks my heart.


I first met your mom at Jace’s baby shower at your house. She always went above and beyond and was so very beautiful and sweet. The joy on your face and hers when y’all were around each other was indescribable. The mother-daughter bond y’all shared is what every mother and daughter should strive for. She touched so many lives in a positive way and her positive energy and glowing personality and smile will be truly missed. I know how much she absolutely adored her family. 💙

The summer days Sophia, mammaw and I would lay by the pool all day. Talking, laughing and listening to music💗
And of course nail dates with her & getting food afterwards❤️

Many weekends in middle school was spent with Sophia & Elizabeth. She was such an amazing mom and I admired everything she had accomplished. I will always remember when she bought a new bed for Elizabeth and I joked about it being like a cloud and I never wanted to leave. I remember her teaching us how to use dial up Internet and AOL messenger. She also told us we wasn’t allowed to talk to boys on there lol. Miss Sophia you will be missed. Praying for Elizabeth and the family during their time of grieving ♥️

Aunt Sophie was full of life and extremely fun to be around. Loved her dearly and will miss her. 

I met Sophie at her 58th Birthday celebration for the first time.  I had always heard what a wonderful and beautiful lady she was from both David and Linda Clark.  Sophie welcomed me and was a gracious hostess with a warm and vibrant smile.  A wonderful lady who will be missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.   My condolences to her family and friends.

I have so many while working with Sophia at MSI in Hickory. She was always so fun to be around and offered words of encouragement to me.  She became more than a coworker she became my friend. Her loss is a great one. 

Sophia was one of kind!! I spent a lot of my childhood with her, she was like a second mother to me and treated me like a daughter. I went with them on family vacations. A lot of life lessons I learned from her!! I loved staying the night at their house with Elizabeth. She would take us shopping,  to eat, the skating ring and church.  She always loved being with us girls, it was a priority to her to be a big part of Elizabeth’s life and to know her friends. Going into our teenage years she helped us with all things beauty and I’ll never forget her plucking my eyebrows for the first time telling me “now beauty is pain”. I admired her!! I looked up to her!! It takes a village to raise a child and she was part of my village!!! I love you Sophia and will always cherish the memories I have of you!!! 

I ran into Sophia eating at Rancho Viejo one night with Elizabeth and ended up sitting with them. Sophia thought a guy a few tables over looked just like Blake Shelton and she kept trying to get his attention and tell him that he looked like Blake. She was so fun and crazy! Always laughed when I was with her!
